Thumbs up Re: Biggest Loser Fitness Challenge forum

My past failings at losing and maintaining weight loss has been because of my eating habits. I live and celebrate life with food. Good day? Bad day? Awesome day? Challenging day? New York Style Cheesecake fits all occasions. I also became dormant in exercising. I remember losing 80 pounds for my wedding day. I wanted to fit in my designer gown so very badly. I exercised, ate right and stayed focused. Soon as I said "I do", married life took over. I cook for five people and I taste test all that I cook. I'm a damn good cook. No, I'm dynamic in the kitchen. Problem is, I stopped exercising. So as I tasted all my creations, I wasn't burning one calorie.
This time around, I'm losing weight for my health. This is my lifetime journey, not a quick fix. I now prepare wonderful, tasty healthy meals for my family and they are benefiting from improved health. My hub is diabetic, so I cook wonderful, healthy creations to save his life. This time, I'm playing for keeps.

You have the right idea.....consistent exercise and good nutrition....have you tried to set your daily calorie intake using your basal metabolic rate?

Why haven't my efforts in the past worked? One of them worked. The rest did not. Lately, I have not been able to be consistent to lose the weight. When I started my new job, 7 years ago, I feel "off the wagon" with my eating and gained 100 pounds...wow...what a fall. I've not been able to lose the weight during these past 7 years. I had one partial success that got me within 50 pounds of goal...but then gained it back, plus some. I believe that FOCUS is the key. I am REALLY focused this time on losing the weight and I'm absolutely committed to eating right to the lose the weight. I want it gone, asap...and I want to keep it off. I have made a commitment to a lifetime of...1st, getting the weight off...2nd, keeping the weight off...3rd, living a healthy, active lifestyle for the rest of my life. Yes!

My problem is with self sabatoge. I don't know why I do it. It's embarrasing - really - I've been here since March and haven't lost a thing. Well, lost and gained, lost and gained. I just keep spinning my wheels and I don't know why. I fee lost, like I'm drowning, not clear headed. I need to pass through this and just do it! I know I am ready. I want more than anything to be the happiest person I can be, to live life to the fullest. I've got to fight off this self sabatoge.

1. Have you truthfully identified why your fat loss and weight loss efforts have failed in the past?

Yes...

Because I do not make myself a priority. I am not faithful...losing steam and giving up. I used to be a binger. Eating to deal with emotional pain, stress, anxiety...etc.

2. Have you made a commitment to a lifetime of health and fitness?

YES!!!! I have discovered I LIKE exercise and prefer good food. Don't miss the fast food. Sometimes I like a treat...and it is a decision, not a compulsion.

Thanks Mark!
