Default What do you think about calorie shifting?

Now, we all know the law about eating less and burning more, right? But what happens when our bodies adapt to our caloric intake? We go lower right? But, we can't do this forever, because eventually, our bodies will adapt to the point where we're not eating enough food to keep our bodies going, let alone support all the exercise we're doing? So, how about calorie shifting? It's the idea where we continuously trick our body by altering our caloric intakes from highs to lows so that our body cannot adjust to the different caloric intakes. I'm thinking of trying Sunday(1700), Monday(2100), Tuesday(1700), Wednesday(2200), Thursday(1800), Friday(2200), and Saturday(1700). My weekly intake will be 12,200, which is a little less than the equivalent of 1,900 calories daily for a week. It sounds a little like the concept fat loss 4 idiots presents, but I've switched it so that you don't have to follow their strict eating plan, and you can adjust your caloric intake to your own body. What is your take on that? Has anyone tried it? What were your results?

HI L.D RIght now I am also counting Cals. and Its all depends on how many cals you burn and you take in. I know that you need to have a 7000 cal def. (Cals burned-Cals taken in) to lose 2lb. a week.
I Know it might be some money but i ended up getting (gowear fit) and it tells you how many cals you burning in one day. Its and arm band that can be up loading into you PC and it will show you how many Cals you burn, how many steps you taken, also you can log in food you eaten, and it will show you how your Cal Deffiet is for that day. Its cool but its about $200 i payed, its works and its really motivates you do do what you planed. Check it out if you want hope it helps.

Ive heard about that an actually my calorie calculator i use has a setting that does a zigzag effect for the week

Calorie Calculator - Daily Caloric Needs

just input your information the calculate then click the link 7 day calorie cycle (zig-zag). i dont do a real zig zag at this point but i try to put in one or two days a week where i eat a little more so try and shift things. so far ive not needed to adjust my calories so im not sure exactly on how effective it is.

ive seen a product like that before but i decided not to use it cause the one i saw requires you to pay a subscription on top of the ton of money you paid for the device just to use it!
does this one require you to pay a subscription to see the results or use it or what ever?

Tricking my body has always had a negative effect. However, its usually been with binge eating. I've heard its good to trick your body, but I have no idea, I'm thinking I wil ltry it with you!

I just recently started a thread about this, but I didn't know it was called colorie shifting. It sounds convincing, but I didn't know if it would work. I read about it on www.dietingedge.com , but it sounded too easy to be true. I am a sceptic though with all of the "Diet Plans" out there that don't seem to work. So does it really work?

Thanks for the info.

I've heard of someone doing something like this but a bit more extreme. She would eat whatever she wanted, but every other day she limits her calories to 500. Basically eat-starve-eat-starve and so on. What effect does this really have?
