okay.

i went to school in CO for massage a couple years ago, and i took an acupressure/shiatsu class that taught a lot of eastern hometopathy practices, and the lemon juice cleanse (aka master cleanse) was in one of my textbooks, so i decided to try it.

my experience with it was absolutely horrible.

the drink was gross, i felt like i was going to vomit every time i drank a little bit. to this day, i still can't eat anything with cayenne pepper on it.

however, i've heard of people who've had lots of success with it, and even saw them do it on LA ink. i don't know if i made it wrong, or it was just a wrong point in my life to be doing that (it was my first year in college, so i had gained the freshman "25" -- more like 30 or so lol --, was living off pizza and chinese, was really stressed out with school and being from my family, and my tiny apartment was a mess. i think i had a lot to detox.

so, if you want to do it, this time would actually be the best, going into spring.

while you are doing it, you don't want to tire yourself out physically by working out a lot (maybe some yoga or something might be ok), just take it easy, try to minimize other stresses. maybe clean your house or room the day before, lol. i mean.. it may sound silly, but that really affects you, outside clutter. and keep a good diet about the week before, lots of fruits and veggies, to "pre-flush" your system.

just be careful, and be very sensitive and aware of your body, okay?

if you do it... good luck!!!!

I've been mixing Psyllium husks into soy milk and drinking that 2X a day, It helps you lose weight, B/c you go to the bathroom a TON. But it's not the embarrassing type, It's when you gotta go, You KNOW you have to go. I get it from my local health food store, a pound of it for $6. It's a colon cleanser, and a NATURAL laxative. I love it, My 5 yr. old has a TERRIBLE time going #2 ... He'll drink some and by the AM he's going to the bathroom. It's like metamucil but ALL natural and I think it works better. This site will tell you more about it ... What is Psyllium Husk?

Hi, I did the master cleanse diet and I would agree that you do lose weight but that's because you aren't eating anything. The problem I had with this deit is what do you do after you complete the diet? It didn't teach you how to lose weight and keep it off. I think this diet would be great for a short term goal of losing weight...like wanting to fit into a particular dress for an upcoming event or something like that. I found that the best "diet" is just completely starting from scratch and changing your entire lifestyle. It's the hardest "diet" by far but it's the only thing I've seen with really dramatic results.
