Question Low Carb Question

I did Atkins years ago and lost 37 lbs on it but as everyone knows it is a cold turkey carb diet....well, I started watching my carbs 10 days ago and I feel great--lots of energy and I am sleeping better at night--my question is...we eat with friends ALOT (cookouts, etc) and I was doing awesome last week and then we ate with our friends and it was spaghetti (no option for me there )--so I ate it ...but the next morning I went back on low carb..is it okay to have a higher carb day when counting them...I am basically trying to stay below 20-25 carbs a day but one piece of bread and that is blown out of the water.

I think it just depends on the plan you follow. If you are just watching your carb intake and not on a specific plan, I am sure one day every now and then won't hurt. Just not too many of them. Try to make it Whole wheat or whole grains if you do have some. Even if it is white pasta or bread, just watch your portion sizes. You should eventually slowly add in whole wheat or whole grains. It isn't good to stay No carb or really low carb for too long. Good luck to you!

i did strict atkins, 20g carbs a day for 2weeks then I added 5 each week. but if you go above 60 a day you are taken out of ketosis..which is when the body burns fat instead of sugar for energy.
I recently switched to south beach. there are more food options..
and I still am losing! it is low carb in a sense..but also the good carbs.

i found one day of "cheating" I did gain 1 lb but that was gone the next day of being good.
