Hi and welcome. You really should give this site a try. I've only been on here a week and love it. I just went out there and found people who I thought had similar situations, etc. as me. Then I'd send them a message and ask them to buddy up. Almost everyone responded and was great. Try searching the buddies list. You can put in different criteria according with who you want to meet.
