Default Re: South Beach Sun Bathers

Hi Shanna
yep, Aussie through and through! I have friends who have been to the US and they say that the food there comes in a lot bigger serves than here, and that there seems to be a lot more fried food than we eat. She tells me that fried onion rings are really, really nice!

She also said that the bread there sweeter, and she couldn't find a decent cup of coffee! Good coffee is important here, and there are lots of little coffee shops everywhere with different blends and flavours. The other thing she couldn't find is plain rolled oats for making porridge for breakfast.

I have heard that in the US people don't prepare as much food at home from scratch, and many people bought breakfast and lunch routinely. But I think that's probably different for different families, the same as over here. We would only eat take-away maybe 1-2 times a month at the most, but many Aussies eat a lot of take-away and don't prepare a lot of food from scratch.

I do notice things like people use egg mix for breakfast and I think why don't they just eat the egg? I don't know anyone here that uses egg mix.
We also don't have the southbeach products here, they may be available in the major cities but not where I live.

Do you notice things that are different? I think it's quite interesting to hear what other people do, maybe I'm nosey too!!
