Years ago, I lived out in the country on a gravel road.* We had very few trick-or-treaters...sometimes none, so I'd save all my pennies and if we had trick-or-treaters, I'd give them pennies.* That way I didn't have candy sitting around to tempt me.* What my kids came home with wasn't a problem for me.* That was theirs so*I wouldn't touch it.* But if I'd bought it, and didn't give it out, it was too tempting.
