Hi Christy,
I think it does help in weight loss. To me, any exercise you enjoy doing is the best one. I like yoga. I started out with a DVD called Yoga Weight Loss for Dummies. That was a really good start for me, not too difficult, but the pace was quick and it did keep the heart rate going. Some forms of cardio are for sure going to burn more calories, but I really think it boils down to what you enjoy doing is what you will keep on doing.
