Also you can take 220 - age. *Take the number you get and that is 100% of your heart rate max. Now multiply that number by 65 % and 85%. That will give you the range you should be in. With the talk test the 85% will feel like you can still talk but would rather not. The 65% will feel like you can carry on a conversation but not sing a song. That is the area that you should be in. If you are just starting out take it slow and work at the lower end until your body gets use to it and gradually increase. Hope this was of some help.
