I did a 10 day diet/cleanse in which I had nothing but lemonade, made with organic lemons, with grade B Maple Syrup in place of sugar and some Cayenne powder thrown in for good measure. I had plenty of energy during this diet to do hard physical work and the high-octane lemonade is all I consumed the whole time! Lemons are special for so many reasons and even though they are acidic by themselves, because of the citric acid, their effect on body chemistry ph is very alkaline. Since they contain significant amounts of important vitamins and minerals, taking lemon with water every day is a very good idea even if you aren't on a diet!
